Walt Smith - Chief Executive Officer
Walt leads the overall operations and board of director efforts for Riverstone Residential Group, the largest privately-owned, third-party multifamily property management company in the United States and a subsidiary of CAS Partners. Riverstone Residential Group manages a portfolio of assets valued at more than $25 billion for leading institutions, pension funds, developers and other major owners. Located in metropolitan markets across the nation, the more than 700 managed properties include high-rise, mid-rise, and garden style communities.
He has been in the property management industry for 23 years and is one of the three founding Principals of HSC Real Estate, a real estate company that was acquired by Riverstone Residential Group in 2008. Walt is a member of IREM and the Washington Chapter of the National Apartment Association. He graduated from Montana State University with a degree in Communications and lives in Seattle with his wife and three children.

Terry Danner - Chief Administrative Officer
Terry Danner, the company's chief administrative officer, is responsible for furthering the company's overall strategic initiatives and specifically leads the corporate marketing and research efforts. He oversees the administration of the company's 32 regional offices throughout the United States. He also leads a dedicated team focused on expanding client services and new business development for Riverstone Residential Group's work in distressed assets.
Partnering with Christy Freeland in 2006, Terry established Riverstone Residential Group through a buyout of Trammell Crow Residential Services. While at Trammell Crow, Terry served as president and chief operating officer, responsible for the South Central region.
Today, Terry's expertise continues helping establish Riverstone Residential Group as a world-class property and asset management company. He graduated from Georgia Tech with high honors, earning a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, and also earned a master's of business administration degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a Board Member at Large of the National Apartment Association.

Christy Freeland - Chairman
Christy Freeland brings more than 30 years of experience to her role as chairman of Riverstone Residential Group, the flagship brand of CAS Partners. In January 2006, Christy partnered with Terry Danner to form Riverstone Residential Group through a buyout of Trammell Crow Residential Services. Since then, the company has grown into the industry's largest privately owned company.
Previously, Christy was president and chief operating officer for TCRS operations in the Mid-Atlantic, Northeast and South Florida. Today, she is involved in advancing the company's strategic initiatives in managing more than 175,000 apartment homes across the country and has been the driving force in establishing Riverstone Residential Group as the nation's premier property management company. Christy leads a new business development team in those efforts.
Christy holds a bachelor's degree in government and politics from the University of Maryland, and a master's degree in urban planning from the University of Tulsa. Christy is also a principal of CAS Partners.

Ty Brewer - Chief Information Officer
Ty Brewer is the CIO for both CAS Partners and Riverstone Residential Group and is responsible for accounting systems, property business systems, telecommunications, and other computer services.
Ty has 15 years of real estate experience, and is the founder of the Residential IT Executive Forum. Before joining Riverstone Residential Group, he was with Brandywine Realty Trust and Prentiss Properties Trust, where his responsibilities included management of the business systems, marketing and computer security.
Ty received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Texas Tech University and holds the CISSP designation.

Maura Bilafer - Division President, East
Maura Bilafer oversees a portfolio of more than 45,350 units located throughout the Eastern regions. From garden-style to high-rise apartments, Maura's experience includes construction, lease-ups, financially and physically stressed assets, and mixed-use properties.
Maura has more than 20 years experience in the multifamily industry, the past 11 years with Trammell Crow Residential Services and Riverstone Residential Group. Maura previously worked in the asset and property management divisions at NHP/Aimco and Boston Financial Group.

Stephanie Brock - Division President, Central
Stephanie Brock oversees a diversified residential portfolio that includes nearly 55,000 units. Located in Colorado, Arizona, Texas and Louisiana, properties include high-rise, mid-rise and garden-style apartments.
Stephanie has more than 20 years of experience in the multifamily industry and has been involved in the successful lease-up of more than 50 new apartment communities. Stephanie has been with Riverstone Residential Group since its inception. Previously, she had worked with Trammell Crow Residential Services where she was instrumental in reestablishing market presence in Houston, Denver and Phoenix.

Mike Dow - Division President, West
Mike Dow brings more than 25 years of real estate experience to his role as president of Riverstone Residential Group's West division. As division president, Mike works closely with property owners and operational teams to achieve strategic revenue goals and ensure an exceptional experience for clients and residents.
Holding ultimate responsibility for achieving aggressive operational objectives and delivering optimal occupancy and net operating income, Mike's responsibilities extend to 78,000 units and 13 regional offices across California, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington.
Since joining Riverstone Residential Group in Fall 2008, Mike has built a world-class executive team and secured more than 8,500 units of new business throughout the division.
In his most recent role—as chief operating officer of FPI Management—Mike was responsible for a 50,000-unit portfolio covering California, Washington, Oregon and Nevada. He also previously served as president of Group Interland Management Corporation, a real estate investment and development company based in San Francisco.

MarySusan Wanich - Division President, Internal Resources
MarySusan Wanich directs the national internal resources group, which encompasses education, quality assurance, compliance brokerage, business integrations and program implementations. She is the broker of record in 11 states and the District of Columbia.
MarySusan has been active in the real estate industry since 1982, and began her tenure at Riverstone Residential Group in 1997. She has experience in conventional, affordable, student and senior housing, condo management, and real estate sales.

Nancy Freeman - Executive Vice President, Southeast
Nancy Freeman directs the management operations for apartment communities located in Arkansas, DC, Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.
Nancy has been active in the multifamily industry since 1980, and her tenure with Riverstone Residential Group began in 2000. She is a past president of both the Charlotte Apartment Association and Chapter 40 of the Institute of Real Estate Management.

Susan Whitney - Executive Vice President, Florida
Susan Whitney oversees a portfolio of 18,000 units throughout Florida, including high-rise, mid-rise and garden communities.
She has been active in the real estate industry since 1982, having worked previously with Trammell Crow Residential Services. Susan is the past president of the Southeast Florida Apartment Association and continues to provide leadership to the board.

Kelly Scott - Executive Vice President, Central
A member of Riverstone Residential Group's leadership team since 2000, Kelly Scott currently oversees a portfolio of more than 20,000 apartment homes in Texas and Louisiana. From garden-style to high-rise apartments, Kelly's portfolio includes both market-rate and affordable properties.
Working in the property management industry since 1986, Kelly has earned the certified apartment property supervisor (CAPS) designation, and has served on the Houston Apartment Association's board of directors since 1999.

Stephen F. Davis - Executive Vice President, Mountain West
Steve oversees operations in Oregon, Southwest Washington, Idaho, Montana, Utah, Albuquerque, New Mexico and Reno, Nevada. His region consists of 27,501 units and 164 communities.
Prior to joining Riverstone Residential Group, Steve was a Principal of HSC Real Estate, Inc. and has been in the Real Estate industry since 1996. Prior to his career in Real Estate, Steve spent seven years with Princess Tours/Cruises.
Steve graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelors of Science degree, and is licensed as a broker in the state of Oregon and Montana.

Tom Daniels - Executive Vice President, Pacific Northwest
Tom oversees Western Washington operations, including 17,000 units across 119 communities. He has been in the multifamily industry for over 16 years, starting as a property manager in 1992.
Prior to Riverstone Residential Group, Tom was responsible for portfolio operations for both Holland Residential and Trammell Crow Residential Services in Oregon. Before working in Real Estate, Tom spent five years in the U.S. Airforce. He is on the Board of the Washington Multifamily Housing Association and is the Chairperson of the Strategic Planning Committee.
Tom graduated from Washington State University with a degree in Business Administration and holds a Washington State Broker's License.

Craig Rooney - Executive Vice President, Southern California and Southern Nevada
Craig Rooney oversees operations in Southern California and Nevada. His region consists of 17,000 units and 80 communities.
Craig has been in the real estate industry for over 23 years and has earned five designations during his career, CPM, CCIM, CAM, RPM and ARM. Prior to joining Riverstone Residential Group, Craig worked for Western National Group, The Irvine Company, Lincoln Property Company and Grubbs & Ellis Commercial Real Estate.
Craig graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration and is a licensed real estate broker in the State of California.
